Head of Film and TV School’s Welcome
Since its beginnings in 1981, Footscray City Films has held a significant place in Australian social and educational history, and is widely recognised for its initiatives, its standards of excellence, and as an instigator in many areas of Film and Television education.
The great strength of the Film School lies in its ability to nurture and encourage strong relationships with students and the community. An essential focus of the Footscray ethos is the discovery of ones self and what we share with others. Filmmaking is such a collaborative process that it encourages individuals to be supportive. It awakens a sense of community in all of us. Individuals and their whole development are central to what we teach.
We offer innovation with tradition, of self-discipline with freedom, which is the basis of creative learning, of balance and breath with the opportunity for students to specialise in areas of interest and expertise.
We offer learning which is a preparation for life in the wider community and which reflects the positive values in a growing world that emphasises the individual achievements of a caring world.
Above all, as head of the Film and Television School the focus is on creating a positive learning experience which enables students to have life long goals to fulfill their dreams.
