2007 saw the introduction of a second Film Camp for Advanced Diploma and Diplomas PDF Print E-mail
Again we went to Lord Somers Camp with 55 very willing students. We braved the cold, wet and windy elements for the week, however we experienced some eventful moments.

We made 6 films, 2 per group, one on Super 16mm and the other on HD. The brief was that the students had to shoot in the morning, afternoon and night, using exterior and interior locations.

The highlight of the camp was learning how to use the grip gear. On arrival on Monday afternoon, Zenton our instructor took the students through all of the different parts of the equipment, crane, dolly tracks and steadycam, explaining all the differnt functions and safety precautions necessary to operate the equipment. This was followed by a written and practical session and at night as we sat beside the log fire, students discussed the different shots they would be using the grip gear for in their films.

The 4 Hour Shoot 2007 PDF Print E-mail

Celebrating 19 years of Film Camp was another successful year of filming. One hundred students shot for a full week in the glorious sunshine at Somers and Balnarring. Luck was on our side when several of the films shot on the foreshore were met with the perfect visitors - dolphins swimming in between the actors. The Directors were able to incorporate the Dolphins into their films, providing excellent production values.

We now await the post production for the completion of the films, a DVD of the students' work and a screening at Loop in June.

We celebrated the completion of the 43 films with a fantastic film screening at LOOP in the city. The staff at Loop were excellent and very hospitable. We had lots of drinks, laughs and funny moments. What a great way to see the hard efforts of  all the students. They should all be very proud of their efforts!
