What year did you graduate?
I graduated in 2010 with an Advanced Diploma of Screen.
What have you been doing since graduating?
For the past 5 years I’ve been running my business ‘Jarrah Film’ Producing, Directing, Shooting & Editing Music Videos.
Jarrah Film has also been one of the main suppliers of online video content for Warner Music & Roadrunner Records filming & editing Q&As and other promotional content.
I’ve been a camera operator for VFL, AFL (international cup & Women’s Draft) Sprintcars & Drag Racing (SBS)
What are you working on at the moment?
I’m editing a Music TV Series called ‘Guitar Gods Goes Cosmic’ which is currently airing on 7Mate. I’m Also in post production for 2 music videos due out by the end of the year
What did you like most about studying at Footscray City Films?
Freedom! In my last year i really wanted to shoot a 50 page script for my major film (This was a terrible idea by the way, But i was allowed to do it!) The year before that i wanted to shoot a music video. if you have something that interests you, or you want to challenge yourself in any particular way you’re encouraged to do so.
How did Footscray City Films help get you where you are today?
In most film schools you’re encouraged to specialise in your preferred interest. At Footscray we were encouraged to learn everything. So when i started my business I already knew how to use a Camera, Direct, Produce and Edit. This allowed my to create my own opportunities rather than apply for jobs in a single field and hope i got them.
Do you keep in contact with people you were at film school with?
Absolutely! Some I catch up for and work with regularly and and others you end up running into along the way. It’s It’s a relatively small industry so you tend to cross paths here and there.
