There are no prerequisite studies for Certificate IV in Screen and Media however we prefer applicants to be turning at least 18 years old in their first year of study at Footscray Film School.
All applicants both Year 12 and Non Year 12 must apply directly through Footscray Film School. Mature age entry and RPL is available.
All applicants must attend an interview and complete a short Language, Literacy and Numeracy Assessment to demonstrate their capacity to successfully complete the course(s) applied for.
All applicants must complete the supplementary information form on the Film School website and telephone the Admissions Officer, Timothy Spanos on (03) 8387 1515 to receive an application for an interview. Short listed applicants will be contacted by the Film School to arrange an interview where they will be asked to present a folio of script(s) and films.
Interviews will be held during the second half of the year for the next years intake which begins in February.
Applicants are required to apply directly to Footscray Film School by completing the Supplementary Application Form online plus an Interview.

Late applicants must contact the Film School to receive a late application kit.
All applicants must have a Unique Student Identifier (USI). From 1 January 2015 the RTO can be prevented from issuing you with a nationally recognised VET qualification or statement of attainment when you complete your course if you do not have a Unique Student Identifier (USI). If you have not yet obtained a USI you can apply for it directly at http://www.usi.gov.au/create-your-usi/ on a computer or mobile device

Interstate applicants may be able to conduct their interview over skype. Please contact the film school if you wish to arrange a skype interview.
Any student wishing to defer their studies must contact the Institution directly by contacting the Admissions Officer: Timothy Spanos on (03) 8387 1515 or by email: email@example.com during the offer period with their name, address, contact email address, contact number, VTAC number and course which they are seeking deferment.
Deferring students must also send a letter requesting a deferment with their name, address, contact email address, contact number and course which they are seeking deferment.
No student can apply for deferment from a course unless they have been made an offer of a place.
Students can only defer for one year, after which they will have to reapply and go through the enrolment procedure again.
Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) is also strongly supported at the college with staff at the college being available to assess students’ previously acquired skills for RPL credits.
Students transferring from another Institute will receive credit transfers where the subjects are the same. Students must supply the appropriate documentation from the corresponding Institution at time of Interview.

Applicants to Footscray Film School are selected on the basis of their application and interview which may include a previous year 12, TAFE qualification or University study, partial or complete.
Some applicants who have not completed any previous study may be eligible to apply under RPL or special consideration category.
